Abstract

A model of diesel-electric unit containing a rotor internal-combustion engine (ICE) connected to the electric machine by means of a recuperator has been investigated. The recuperator presents a system of two flywheels coupled by a connecting rod. The investigations showed that the recuperator possesses the characteristics required for the standard operation of both ICE and electric machine. The feasibility of electric power obtaining using the electric machine of a reciprocating rotary motion type has been proved.
