Abstract

The identified conditions of welding foils of refractory metals Nb and Ta to steel grades AISI 201 and AISI 307 at imposing of external pressure. By means of scanning electron microscopy investigated the transition zone. It is shown that the resistance welding Nb and Ta with a steel plate, there are processes of simultaneous heating and melting of the contact. Create a lasting bond of materials for welding is performed by successive melting and wetting of the surface of the foils of Nb and Ta, thus ensuring a large contact surface and the homogeneity of the weld.
