Physicist Narges Mohammadi was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for human rights activities
2023-11-09The Nobel Peace Prize for 2023 was awarded to Iranian physicist Narges Mohammadi “for her struggle against the oppression of women in Iran and her struggle to promote human rights and freedom for all.” Narges Mohammadi became the third physicist after Andrei Sakharov in 1975 and Joseph Rotblat in 1995 to receive the Nobel Peace Prize.

First X-ray of a single atom
2023-06-05Ohio University Scientists have taken the world's first X-ray SIGNAL (or SIGNATURE) of just one atom. This groundbreaking achievement could revolutionize the way scientists detect the materials.
A team of scientists from Ohio University, Argonne National Laboratory, the University of Illinois-Chicago, and others, led by Ohio University Professor of Physics, and Argonne National Laboratory scientist, Saw Wai Hla, have taken the world's first X-ray SIGNAL (or SIGNATURE) of just one atom. This groundbreaking achievement was funded by the U.S. Department of Energy, Office of Basic Energy Sciences and could revolutionize the way scientists detect the materials.

Quantum computer by 2026
2023-05-22German government allocates 3 billion euros to create a quantum computer
A quantum computer to be built by 2026 will have a capacity of at least 100 qubits. Funding for the device includes 2.2 billion euros split among several German government ministries, including 1.37 billion euros for the research ministry. National research institutes will receive another 800 million euros.
The project is part of a new initiative to make Germany competitive with countries that have already built or are taking steps to build such a device. It is hoped that the cash will boost the German economy and propel the country to first place in the European Union.

Minister of SHE of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sayasat Nurbek spoke at the Government Hour in the Mazhilis on the development of science
2023-05-18The minister noted that funding for science over the past three years has increased 3 times, for the commercialization of scientific projects has increased 4 times, the basic funding includes the wages of leading scientists; introduced the institution of appeal of the decisions of the NNC; approved the regulatory framework for scientific internships; the National Council for Science and Technology was established taking into account the best international experience. Support for young scientists has also been strengthened.
