There are presented results ofdevelopmentof technologyof composite layersbased onamorphous hydrogenated carbon (а-С:Н), modified by platinum (а-С:Н) and research of their physico-chemical properties. Layersof the compositewere preparedby magnetron sputtering ofa composite targetwith a constant current in the atmosphere ofargonand hydrogen. Monitoring of the structure and physico-chemical properties was carried out by standard (Electronic microscope research, IR-spectroscopy) and special developed methods using methodology of spectrophotometric chemical analysis, gravimetry, ellipsometry with the following parameters: density and sponginess, component composition, width and deflection, resistivity, electrocatalytic properties (power and catalytic activity of platinum). Catalytic activity of the а-С:Н–Pt layers was apprized in air-hydrogen fuel cell. It was shown, that given а-С:Н–Pt layers have high catalytic activity in airhydrogen fuel cell achieved 3mWt/mkg. There are identified basicregularities linking hemicalcomposition of the layersand their structuralcharacteristics with theelectrocatalytic activityin theair-hydrogenfuelcell.
